On April 2nd, Chief Roger Clavet attended the Atlantic Police Academy to congratulate our two new police officers, Shawn Landry-Martin and Nolan Babin.


They successfully completed their training, which includes both classroom instruction and a on-the-job training portion. They are now fully qualified to begin their new careers.  Welcome aboard, Nolan and Shawn!

HIT & RUN

Suspect vehicle

The BNPP Regional Police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit and run that occurred on Sunday, March 29, at approximately 10:25 a.m., in at the intersection of Principale Street and Rue du Parc in the Beresford's Sector.


The vehicle failed to stop after the collision, continued northbound on Rue Principale, and then turned onto Rue Acadie.

The vehicle is described as a dark grey 2011 to 2014 Hyundai Sonata (GLS or SE).

SPEEDER CAUGHT

On March 20th, one of our two cadets, accompanied by his field training officer, intercepted a vehicle traveling at 109 km/h, in a 50 km/h zone, in the Pointe-Verte area.

The driver was issued a $604.50 fine. The vehicle was towed and impounded at the owner’s expense for a period of 7 days.

Search Warrant Executed in Petit-Rocher

 Drug and Cash Seized, Bathurst, N.B. – March 18, 2026

The Bathurst Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU), with assistance from the Miramichi Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU) as well as the BNPP Regional Police, executed a search warrant at a cottage located at 741 Msg Lanteigne, in the village of Petit-Rocher.

During the search, police seized what is believed to be cocaine, prescription pills, a sum of Canadian currency, and various materials used for the distribution of illicit substances.

A 25-year-old man, Terrence Joinvil, originally from the greater Montreal area, was arrested. He appeared before a judge and was released on strict conditions. He is scheduled to return to court on April 20, 2026, to enter a plea. He will face the following charges:


• Possession of a substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine)

• Possession of a substance for the purpose of trafficking (oxycodone)

• Possession of a substance for the purpose of trafficking (benzodiazepine)


The New Brunswick IEUs are specialized units composed of members of municipal police forces, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and the New Brunswick Department of Justice and Public Safety. Their primary mission is to strengthen the coordination of responses to growing concerns related to drugs, firearms, and organized crime within the province.


The investigation is ongoing.
